The School of Agricultural Engineering held a teaching salon on "Improving Education and Teaching Skills"

On November 2nd, the "Education and Teaching Skills Enhancement" teaching salon, presided over by Huang Wenyue, Vice Dean of the School of Agricultural Engineering, was held in the F304 conference room of the College of Agricultural Engineering. The event was attended by Professor Sinai Chao from the School of Materials Science, Professor Song Xinnan from the School of Activism, Professor Ling Zhiyong from the School of Mechanical Engineering, teaching backbones from the Department of Facilities and the Department of Agricultural Machinery of the College of Agricultural Engineering, representatives of newly hired young teachers, and representatives of teachers from sister colleges.

At the event, Xu Xiangru, a young teacher from the Facilities Department of the School of Agricultural Engineering who has achieved excellent results in multiple teaching competitions both inside and outside the school in recent years, served as the keynote speaker. Based on her own teaching competition experience, relevant competition requirements, and selection methods, she shared methods for improving teaching skills, from the perspectives of in-depth understanding of teaching content, possessing good teaching abilities, and attracting student interest, Elaborate on how to enhance teaching ability and achieve the goal of mutual benefit between teaching and learning by meeting the needs of students.


Yang Qizhi, Director of the Department of Agricultural Machinery at the School of Agricultural Engineering, introduced the differences between teaching competitions and actual teaching from the perspective of judges of teaching competitions, encouraging young and middle-aged teachers to focus on improving their teaching abilities and enhancing their educational level; Representatives of young and middle-aged teachers, Lu Xin, Song Jinxiu, Ji Guanya, and Lv Gaoqiang, combined their teaching experiences to elaborate on their experiences in improving educational and teaching skills. The attending teaching supervisors shared their experiences and insights from the aspects of teaching standardization, teaching process management, ideological and political education in courses, integration of scientific research into teaching, application of teaching language, courseware and teaching design, etc. They also encouraged young teachers to devote themselves to teaching and strive to improve their educational and teaching level by combining excellent teaching examples from various colleges.


The attending teachers stated that the activity explored teaching competitions and daily teaching experiences through face-to-face communication and discussion. They gained a lot and will re-examine their self-education teaching methods, striving to improve teaching effectiveness and student satisfaction, and solidify the foundation of curriculum teaching for the improvement of undergraduate talent cultivation quality.
